DOCTORATE DEGREE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
For All Doctoral Applicants:
State the reasons you are prompted to pursue a study in the particular program area you have chosen. Describe what you hope to gain through the program you have chosen. Give specific goals and personal or professional needs. A scholarly research-oriented seminar paper of Ten pages must be submitted with the application for admission. This paper should reflect the applicant's ability to identify appropriate sources, to critically reflect upon them and draw a sound conclusion. Good form and style should be followed. (SERMON NOTES AND OUTLINES ARE NOT ALLOWED)

There are 60 Credit hours required to earn the Doctorate Degree. Transfer Credits in Theology, Humanities and other related subjects from other colleges may be used along with Life Experience, Leadership Seminars and Ministry Experience to fulfill some of the requirements in each Degree Program.
Credits transferred must be comparable subjects to those required and offered by BCU. Requirements for any degree must be approved by the Dean of Studies. Please Note: A minimum of eight (8) courses must be taken through Bethel Christian University to earn the Doctorate Degree.
A 30,000 word Dissertation or Study syllabus WILL be required for this program, and will earn 10 hours of the required course credits. Your written work must be built from a bibliography of at least ten reference books, which will include a minimum of eight books to be read in all. Back to Academic Programs
For Doctor of Missions only:
Beginning with the most recent, list (including dates) your ministry experiences in various cross-cultural (and cross sub-cultural) situations. As you reflect on these experiences, write an essay indicating what you have learned about cultural dynamics and ministry effectiveness. Also indicate what you believe you have yet to learn and how the BCU program in Missiology will assist you in that learning.
